What is the CDP Climate questionnaire?
CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) sends an annual climate change questionnaire to thousands of companies. Responses are scored from A (leadership) to D- (disclosure). The questionnaire covers governance, risks/opportunities, strategy, targets, emissions data, energy, and verification across 11 modules.
Is CDP disclosure mandatory in India?
CDP disclosure is voluntary but increasingly expected. Companies receive CDP requests from investors (via CDP investor signatories) or customers (via CDP Supply Chain). With BRSR already requiring climate disclosures under Principle 6, most of the data needed for CDP is already available.
How does CDP scoring work?
CDP uses a 4-level scoring methodology: Disclosure (D/D-), Awareness (C/C-), Management (B/B-), and Leadership (A/A-). Points are awarded for completeness, quality of response, and demonstrated action. Our tool provides A-grade hints and D-grade warnings for each question.
